Terms of Service
Effective date: July 14, 2026
These terms apply when you request or receive junk removal services from Half‑Ton Hauling & Junk Removal ("we," "us"), or use this website. By booking a job with us, you agree to them. They're written in plain English on purpose.
1. Quotes and pricing
Quotes are based on the photos and descriptions you provide and on our published load-size pricing. A quote is firm if the items on site match what you showed us. If the actual volume, weight, item type, or access conditions differ materially from what was described, we'll give you a revised price before starting work — you're free to decline, and you owe nothing if we haven't started. Add-on fees for special items (refrigerant appliances, mattresses, e-waste, dense material) are stated in the quote itself, never added afterward.
2. Payment
Payment is due in full when the job is complete, by Venmo, Zelle, or cash. For large jobs (box-truck loads or multi-day cleanouts), we may request a deposit at booking, stated in your quote. Unpaid balances more than 15 days past due may accrue a late charge of 1.5% per month or the maximum permitted by law, whichever is less.
3. Cancellations and rescheduling
Life happens — cancel or reschedule any time before we're en route at no charge. If we arrive and can't perform the job for reasons on your end (no access, items not as described and no agreement on a revised price), we may charge a trip fee of up to $50.
4. Your responsibilities
By pointing us at items to haul, you represent and warrant that: (a) you own the items or have full authority from the owner to dispose of them; (b) the items don't contain hazardous materials (see our can't-take list — including paint, solvents, fuels, propane, asbestos, and biohazards); and (c) you've removed anything you want to keep, including contents of drawers, pockets, and containers. Once items leave your property, they are ours to donate, recycle, or dispose of, and cannot be retrieved. You agree to reimburse us for costs we incur because these representations weren't accurate (for example, hazardous-material disposal fees or claims by a third-party owner).
5. Our responsibilities
We'll show up when we say we will, treat your property with care, and leave the loading area broom-clean. If we damage your property while working, tell us before we leave or notify us within 48 hours with photos, and we'll make it right — repair, replacement, or fair compensation. Claims made after 48 hours are handled at our discretion. Our total liability for any job is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for that job or the cost to repair the specific damage we caused; we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under California law.
6. Items we decline
We may decline any item at the job site that we reasonably believe is hazardous, unsafe to lift or transport, or unlawful for us to haul. Where we can, we'll point you to the correct Orange County disposal facility.
7. Website
The content on this site is provided as-is for general information. Prices shown are current standard rates and may change; the price in your individual quote controls. All site content, including our name, logo, and illustrations, belongs to us — please don't reuse it without permission.
8. Disputes
These terms are governed by California law. Before anyone lawyers up, contact us — we're two people and we'd rather fix the problem. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be handled in the small claims court or state courts of Orange County, California.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the version posted here with the latest effective date applies to new bookings. Changes never apply retroactively to a job already booked.
