Half‑Ton Hauling & Junk Removal ("we," "us") is a family-owned junk removal business based in Laguna Niguel, California. This policy explains what information we collect through this website and by phone or text, how we use it, and the choices you have. Short version: we collect only what we need to quote and complete your job, we never sell it, and we don't run ads or trackers.
Information we collect
When you request a quote through our website form, or by call or text, we collect: your name, phone number, city or ZIP code, a description of the items you want hauled, and any photos you choose to send. If we complete a job for you, we may also note your service address and keep before/after photos of the items hauled for our records. Our website host also collects standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) as part of operating the site. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or social media pixels.
How we use it
We use your information only to: prepare and send your quote, schedule and complete your haul, communicate with you about your job, process payment, keep basic business records (invoices, tax records), and respond if you contact us. That's it. We do not use your information for marketing lists, and we will never send you promotional messages you didn't ask for.
Text messaging (SMS) terms
When you text us, or submit our quote form and provide your phone number, you consent to receive text messages from us about your quote and your scheduled service (quotes, booking confirmations, arrival ETAs, and payment requests). Message frequency varies by job; message and data rates may apply per your carrier plan. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP or call (949) 745‑3200 for assistance. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchasing our services — you can always book by voice call instead. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, and only as needed: our website host and form processor (Netlify, which receives form submissions), our phone carrier (which transmits calls and texts), and payment services you choose to pay with (Venmo or Zelle — governed by their own privacy policies; we never see or store your banking details). We may also disclose information if required by law.
Retention & security
We keep quote requests and job records as long as needed for business and tax purposes, then delete them. Information is accessible only to the two of us who run the business. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we limit what we collect so there's little to lose.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you — text or call (949) 745‑3200 and we'll handle it within 30 days. Because we don't track visitors, our site does not respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals; there is nothing tracking you to turn off.
Children
Our services and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the updated version here with a new effective date. Material changes will be flagged on this page for 30 days.
